Terms of service
Last updated:
These terms apply when you buy or use Aphanon. By paying for a plan or using the service you agree to them. Read them with the privacy policy and the refund and withdrawal policy.
Who provides the service
Aphanon is provided by Binary Business, a sole proprietorship registered in Denmark (CVR 38836234), Bueparken 156, 2750 Ballerup, Denmark.
Contact contact@aphanon.io. Support is by email only.
What the service is
Aphanon is a privacy network. Your traffic enters through one server and leaves through another, and no single server is meant to hold both who you are and where you go. Every plan includes every mode, apps for Windows, macOS, Linux, Android and iOS, and a browser extension that controls the app and carries no traffic itself.
Each plan has a floor speed, not a ceiling: the speed your plan gets in normal service, where your own connection allows it. Up to five of your devices can use an account at a time, and they share the plan's floor.
Exit servers refuse outgoing connections to TCP port 25, the port used to send email between mail servers, to keep Aphanon from being used for spam. They connect only to public IPv4 addresses; IPv6 destinations are not carried yet. They also limit how fast one connection can open new flows to DNS, NTP, SSDP and memcached servers, which attackers misuse to amplify traffic. Our servers do not filter content. Ad and tracker blocking, where offered, runs in the app on your device. Aphanon offers no port forwarding.
Your account
We never ask for your name or email. An account is a random account number and a recovery code. They are the only way to use, manage, move or delete the account, and the only proof that a purchase is yours. Keep both safe: if they are lost we cannot look them up or restore them, because we do not know who you are, and we have no way to contact you.
An account is for personal use. You may share it with the people in your household, within its five devices. You may not resell it, or share it outside your household.
Plans and payment
The plans, their floor speeds, their prices and the available prepaid crypto terms will be announced on this site before sale starts.
Prices will be shown in euro and include VAT. Card purchases are taxed at your country's rate through Stripe Tax; for a crypto term you declare your country at checkout.
You can pay on this site by card, with Apple Pay or Google Pay where your browser offers them, through Stripe, or with cryptocurrency through an invoice. The invoice shows which coins it accepts. Plans are sold only on this site: the apps sell nothing, and only sign in with an account you already have.
A card plan is a monthly subscription. It renews each month until you cancel, which you can do at any time from your account page; cancelling keeps the service working until the end of the period you paid for. Raising your plan takes effect as soon as the change is paid. Lowering it takes effect at the next renewal, with nothing refunded for the current month.
A crypto term is paid once, for a fixed number of months, and does not renew automatically.
Service starts when your payment is confirmed. If a card payment is disputed with your bank, the plan ends at once, and winning the dispute does not restore it; ask us for a refund first instead.
Starting service and withdrawing
Purchases made on this site carry a 14-day right of withdrawal. For crypto purchases, checkout asks you to request service as soon as payment is confirmed. If you withdraw within 14 days, you pay for time used and receive the unused part at its euro value. Your right to withdraw ends when the prepaid term has been fully provided.
See the refund and withdrawal policy.
Who may use the service
You must be at least 18, or have your guardian's consent.
Acceptable use
Use the service lawfully and do not abuse it or other users. In particular, do not use Aphanon to attack, scan or break into systems, spread malware, send spam, commit fraud, harass anyone or share material that is illegal where it is sent or received. Do not attack or overload the network itself. You are responsible for what you do with your connection.
We may suspend or end an account for breach or abuse. Because an account is only a number, a suspension applies to that number. You may stop using the service or delete your account at any time.
What we promise and what we do not
The service is provided as available, without an uptime guarantee. Outages and temporary slowdowns can happen while we recover from a hosting provider's failure or add capacity. The floor speed is not promised when your own connection, the network you are on or the website you reach is slower.
We do not promise invisibility: a network can still block or cap your whole connection. We do not promise perfect anonymity: no service can, and ours depends on how many people use it.
We are not liable for indirect loss. Nothing here limits your statutory consumer rights or liability that cannot be limited by law.
Law and disputes
Danish law governs these terms, without removing mandatory consumer protection in your country of residence. You may complain to the Danish Consumer Complaints Board (Forbrugerklagenævnet). Write to contact@aphanon.io first; most problems are solved there.
A dispute that is not settled goes to the Danish courts. If you are a consumer, this does not take away your right to bring a claim in the courts of the country where you live.
Changes to these terms
We post changes on this page with a new "Last updated" date. They apply to new purchases from that date; for an existing term they apply at renewal, or a month after notice if they are materially worse for you. We hold no email address for you, so this page is where notice is given.
Read our privacy policy.
